The Best Beach, Patio & Pool Loungers
To welcome and commemorate summer, the best season of the year, I've compiled a list of the best beach, patio & pool loungers. Because, in my opinion, there is no better way to take advantage of long, hot summer days than kickin' back, chillin' out, and lounging in the sun.
Having the best lounger on a peaceful, party rockin', or sexy summer night won't hurt you either.
Here are my picks for the season's best beach, patio & pool loungers.
Note: Lounger prices are listed as they were at printing. Prices are subject to change.
Folding Beach Chair & Roller Cart
This folding beach chair and roller cart has it all: room for your gear and room for your rear. Fishermen, beachgoers, and festival regulars can haul their blankets, coolers, and other outing necessities dolly-style with the cart tipped onto its oversized wheels. Then tilt the nylon fabric pouch forward and unfold the base bar, and your cart becomes an equally useful low lounge chair.
Canopy Island Inflatable Lounge
Someone looks more interested in her floating cabana than she is in her wading cabana boy. I guess I would be too if he showed up empty handed like that. What, not even a tall glass of something cold, pink, and strong enough to convince her to invite you on board?
Intex's inflatable Canopy Island is an ultra roomy float with a built-in backrest and detachable fabric sun shade. A pair of cup holders promotes hydration/a continued buzz for you and anyone you may deem worthy of sharing your island.
Hammocraft Floating Hammock Frames
Hammocrafts use the same materials as whitewater raft frames, reconfigured to mount to your favorite floatation device strong and sturdy enough to string a hammock or 4 between their posts, and help a bunch of buds relax during a day on the lake. The Hammocraft brainfathers are based out of outdoor Wonderland Jackson, Wyoming (no surprise there) and sell their hammock rigs as fully functional and easily assembled frame kits, or individual frame, hammock, and hardware components you can use to build your own beast of the still, chill body of water.
Hammocrafts can be fashioned to fit over stand up paddleboards, rafts, duckies, and drift boats (you'll need to supply your own). They are recommended for use on lakes and slow-moving rivers.
Whole Pizza Pool Float
Call your friend Cornelius, your friend Victor, your friend Maurice, your girlfriend, and maybe 3 of her friends if they aren't too annoying, and give everyone a slice of Swimline's whole pizza of a pool float. The heavy-duty vinyl rafts merge at their points to form a perfect, 8-strong circle of pepperoni, pepper, olive, and mushroom.
Kelty Low Loveseat Chair
Kelty wants to help all the lovers out there get low. This folding chair built for two is you and your S.O.'s key to covert cuddling...and other monkey business...at backyard BBQs, campfires, open-air cinemas, and outdoor concerts.
Hanging Chaise Lounge Dream Chair
I don't usually swing, but when I do, I swing in a Dream Chair. Partly because it rocks my soul to a state of unwavering peace, and partly because whenever I try to get into one of those adulterous little circles, they always reject me due to my inability to produce a complementary willing female participant. Or something. I think they're all just a bunch of closed-minded, elitist hippies.
Sport-Brella Recliner Chair
Recline, chillax, drink up, and avoid the sun squints. The Sport-Brella Recliner Chair packs a lot of perks into its outdoor lounger. In addition to the same olds of folding portability and weather-resistant construction, this chair incorporates a 3-position recliner and 3-way swiveling umbrella for additional comfort and shade. It also has a built-in insulated pocket large enough to store 4 drinks, plus additional storage pockets, an included bottle opener, and a cup holder in the armrest. Metallic undercoating provides UPF 50+ sun protection.
Stargaze Swinging & Reclining Camp Chair
A portable seat that swings & leans, leans & swings, the Stargaze looks to help you relax after a hike...or a 6-pack...with a gentle motion and an auto-reclining mechanism.
You can set up the Stargaze chair on any surface, whether rocky, sandy, or uneven, without compromising its talents, and, presumably, without falling ass over teakettle out of it. The camping compadre is made of aircraft grade aluminum that flexes while swing, "dynamically suspending you in the air for an entirely new sitting experience."
Zero Day Bed
Cocooning the bed is also a segmented glass or carbon fiber screen that unfurls to let the world in, or privatizes the space for sexy time at the press of a button. Inside the lair is a retro-illuminated champagne (or artificially flavored juice drink) bucket that transforms the bed into a glowing nighttime sphere so brilliant lady fireflies will clamor to be near it, and male fireflies will plot to destroy it.
Zero Gravity Patio Lounger
Infused with European design sensibilities and American lazing-around-doing-nothing-but-getting-fatter sensibilities, the Zero Gravity patio recliner slides woven PVC fabric over an orbital duo of powder-coated steel bases for a backyard or poolside experience comparable only to lolling on a cloud or maybe floating in a saltwater sensory deprivation tank.
Volo Hammock Rocker
Rough life this guy has. Timing the tides. Towing his Sveglio Volo all the way across the beach and into the water. Settling into its hammock and getting a gentle rock going just as the sun starts to set. I bet it's a Thursday night or something too. And he's completely spent from a long week of stand up paddleboarding and checking the internet to confirm how many tens of thousands of dollars his stocks and real estate investments made that morning.
Sveglio operates out of Big Sur, California, where it makes all of its Volo hammock rockers to order according to buyer color and fabric specifications. The Italian "Volo" translates to "I fly" in English, and though this lounger is neither suspended from the ground, nor able to lift off and leave it, the smooth design and easy motion of its frame are going for a weightless sensation.
Outdoor Rocking Hammock Lounger
Can't afford a Volo Hammock Rocker? Go with a Lazy Daze Hammocks outdoor rocking lounger and save over $8,200! Sure, it might not be as luxe or snazzy as Sveglio's rocker, but at least you'll be able to actually relax in it, instead of stressing out about how broke you made yourself attempting to buy a piece of relaxation.
Suitable for the garden, beach, pool deck, or park, this hammock lounger has a simple construction consisting of a tubular, powder-coated steel stand covered in weather-resistant textilene fabric. A pillow attaches at the top end for head and neck comfort, but that brick of a thing does not look conducive to head and neck comfort to me.
Intex Ultra Daybed Inflatable Lounge
I like it. Intex hasn't just made their daybed an indoor / outdoor lounger, they've made it a dry land / chillin' on the water piece of inflatable relaxation too. The big ol' disc can fit 2 comfortably and more than 2 cozily across its 75" diameter. A detachable backrest adds versatility, so you can either read and app-swipe upright, or use the daybed as a night bed.
SoundFloat Water Lounger with Built-in Sound System
SoundFloat water loungers are bluetooth-enabled and come with built-in 20 watt speakers, plus 70mm embedded subwoofers. Wherever you may float, ocean, lake, or backyard pool, you'll be sure to hear all your favorite music, pod-casts, and audiobooks "without moving a muscle."
SoundFloats' curvy design was inspired by the Shelby Cobra. Lounger construction consists of a thick, puncture-resistant PVC that "can take up to 300 lbs of weight cannonballing directly on the top of it without tearing."
Panama Banana Lounger & Soccer Goal
Net a few kicks with the round one, and then recover from the exertion with the cold one in Agota Rimsaite's Panama Banana, a soccer goal that turns 90 degrees into a hammock-style rocking lounger. Throw in a side of sand and ocean, and you'll pretty much have the perfect day - life, even - all laid out.
