Raspberry Pi has gotten an upgrade. The Raspberry Pi 4 is the R-Pi Foundation's effort to ensure their $35 do-it-all computer will be able to keep up with the requirements of do-it-all in 2019 as well as it did in 2012.
Raspberry Pi 4's primary upgrades are its high-performance 64-bit quad-core processor and dual-display output intended to provide users with a "complete desktop experience" for editing docs, surfing the web with tons of open tabs (my average is a baker's dozen), and moving between spreadsheets. Version 4 also has 2 x Micro HDMI ports, up to 4K resolution, hardware video decoding at up to 4Kp60, dual-band 2.4/5.0 GHz wireless LAN, Bluetooth 5.0, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0, and PoE capability.
Like other Raspberry Pi models, Raspberry Pi 4 operates silently and uses much less power than other computers. However, it does have higher power requirements than previous versions, requiring a 3.0A USB-C power supply (sold separately, or you can use a microUSB to USB-C adapter to use a 3.0A supply you already own.) Three Raspberry Pi 4 variants are available with 1GB, 2GB, or 4GB of RAM.
