Fenik Yuma Cooler - Ice- & Electricity-Free Fridge
The Fenik Yuma Cooler is about to make evaporative cooling a whole lot cooler. Designed as an eco-friendly refrigeration solution for areas without easy access to electricity and ice, the cooler is able to keep perishables fresh using only a few liters of water. Tap, well, river lake - any clean source you have nearby.
To activate the evaporative cooling process Fenik has developed what they call PhaseTek, a material able to interact with water, ice- and electricity-free, in a way similar to that animals use to cool themselves naturally. Or that we use when we sit in front of misting fans or run through a sprinkler on a hot day. PhaseTek allows water vapor to evaporate from the sides of the Yuma Cooler without any liquid leaking out. The evaporating water then pulls heat out of the interior storage space, cooling it by an average of 20 to 30 degrees F.
Fenik says the Yuma Cooler can safely store foods ranging from fruits and vegetables to dairy products within its 60-liter compartment.
The Yuma Cooler arrives and travels packed flat at 22.4" x 17.7" x 4.6", and sets up in under a minute. Use it for camping, picnics, or food delivery storage, or add the cooler to your survival kit.
Through October 12, 2018, you can pledge for one of Fenik's Yuma 60L evaporative cooling coolers on Kickstarter.
