Quadski - Amphibious ATV

Check It Out

A one-person all-terrain vehicle that doubles as a personal watercraft. I don't like these studious, clinical terms for the Quadski, which is better described as a fat amphibious wad of adrenaline with a BMW engine. Gibbs' jet ski-ATV hybrid is pretty much the first of its kind that can move faster than Usain Bolt can run. Other commercially available land-water hybrids exist, but max out at speeds of 10 mph on water. Gibbs' High Speed Amphibian (HSA) Technology allows Quadski riders to jet at 45 mph on both solid and liquid states of matter for increased flexibility, freedom, and F'ing good times. The Quadski hopes to hit the US market by the end of 2012. At $40,000, it won't be hitting my market, but given that I send Gerard Butler friend requests on Facebook 4 times a day, I'll probably be tight with him in time to ride the one he'll inevitably purchase.

The Quadski's amphibious operation switches at the press of a button, retracting its all-terrain tires within 5 seconds of entering water, and deploying them as it approaches land. A four-cylinder, BMW-supplied engine powers the Quadski's ATV face, while a Gibbs Jet Drive controls marine propulsion. Supported rider and gear weight is up to 260 pounds.

Quadskis will be available in 5 colors, and sold by power sports dealers, predominantly in Florida, Texas, the New York to Boston corridor, and the Great Lakes region.
