See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil Stormtroopers
My favorite thing about these See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil Stormtrooper figurines - aside from the fact that we're talking about them on Star Wars Day - is the See No Evil Trooper who looks more like he's doing a Picard facepalm than covering his eyes. I do love me some Star Wars-Star Trek crossovers!
The officially licensed Three Wise Stormtroopers trio comes from Nemesis Now, and it's really a great play on the Three Wise Monkeys theme and its various meanings. On the one hand, the Japanese proverb indicates one should always be of sound mind, speech, and action. The irony of a Stormtrooper, who is a mindless cog, never gets more lines than, "Can I see some identification?" and "Move along," and has the worst aim in the history of aiming, being any of those things is delightful.
And then there's the other interpretation of the Three Wise Monkeys: that they're slimy, complicit lap dogs who turn a blind eye to the shady and corrupt things going on around them. And, hey, that one works for the Stormtroopers - not to mention a lot of other people I know - too!
See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil Stormtrooper figurines are cast in polyresin. Each stands around 7" tall.
