I like it when the computer costs only about 2.5 times more than the keyboard they recommend to go with it. The latest in Android's line of mini PCs, the RK3188 serves as an upgrade to the platform's RK3066 model. One happy Amazon reviewer describes it as a fully capable Android tablet, sans the screen, keyboard, and mouse. (To maintain objectivity, I should add that an unhappy Amazon reviewer says, "Wah, wah it doesn't come with directions and I don't know how to use it! Sniffle.")

Hook the RK3188 up to an HDTV and desired wireless accessories, and you'll be able to surf the Web, blast audio and video--including streaming music and movies--download and use Android apps, and play games. The mini PC runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and a Quad-core 1.6GHz CPU. It has 2GB of RAM and an 8GB flash drive. Ports include a standard HDMI female, 3.5mm headset jack (mic embedded), Micro USB, USB, and SD card.

Android's latest mini robot is also fast. Though it works only with WPA2 WiFi router encryption (not WEP), each unit has been tested with at least a 10M download speed for zippy browsing and lag-free streaming. Reviewers note successful RK3188 use with Hulu Plus, Netflix, Subsonic, YouTube, XBMC, Pandora, and Angry Birds Star Wars.
