Business coach, life coach, fitness coach, diet coach, and now add sun coach to the list of people I pay to help me avert F'ing up. Except June isn't a person. She (I'll go ahead and personify her though) is a bracelet and an accompanying app (and I'm assigner her hot blonde status) tasked with measuring sun intensity in real time and monitoring her wearer's daily sun exposure.
June absorbs and deciphers the effects of sunlight at all times during use. Sending its readings to the June App, the wearer will receive smartphone/tablet alerts based on entered personal habits and skin type. These notifications include an overall UV Index Measure from 1 to 10, as well as a daily sun exposure rating, expressed from 0% to 100%. Based on this information, June will also send a push when she thinks a wearer needs to apply SPF, wear a hat, or put on sunglasses.
June's coup de grace selling point is fashion. The bracelet's design smacks of a diamond and attaches to a simple double-wound leather cord. The gem, available in platinum, gold, or gunmetal, can also be worn as a brooch.
So I guess June's ultimate goal is to keep women from getting all sun splotched, wrinkly, and haggard-looking. Just women. No man is going to want to wear the shiny jewelry required to reap the app's benefits. We'll still reap the benefits of our wives and girlfriends not transforming into repulsive leather-skinned half-lizards down the road though. I can get behind that.
June is slated for release in Spring 2014.
