Some call it the can that won WWII. Even though the Germans created the Wehrmacht-Einheitskanister, American and British forces quickly copied the design and used it for the efficient storage and safe transport of fuel across Europe during the war. They also renamed it a Jerry Can, "Jerry" being the slang term used for German soldiers.
Danish design firm One Copenhagen has repurposed and reconfigured actual Jerry Cans from military surplus stockhouses into the swell bar cabinets you see here. So now Jerry can be the can that won you the envy of all your friends.
Jerry Can cabinets are pricey, but after reading the steps One Copenhagen takes to upcycle them, I can't say their cost is ludicrous. The process takes 3 weeks, beginning with cutting, drilling, and grinding each can into a cabinet with a door and space for shelving. Most of the Jerry Cans arrive dinged and rusty, so OCH must also burn, sandblast, and powder coat them back to a more presentable shape and appearance. Internal shelves are molded in oak, walnut, or smoked oak plywood, and then mounted inside. It's all done by hand.
Resultant Jerry Can bar cabinets can hold 2 x 70cl bottle of liquor and up to 12 glasses. They come in a variety of colors, including Black, Army Green, and Gold.
