I would much rather vacuum a floor than mop it, so the iRobot Braava Jet Mopping Robot is a welcome addition to my closet o' crap that helps me get chores done. What I wonder, though, is if you have carpeted floors abutting your tile or hardwood flooring, how does the iRobot know when the one you want it to jet spray cleaning solution and scrub all over ends, and the one you'd prefer not to have saturated with whatever variation of Windex they make to clean floors begins?

Can I yell at the iRobot to "Get back in the kitchen!" or "Stay in the bathroom!" like I yell at my cat Zanzibar to "Get out of the kitchen!" and "Stay away from my bathroom!"?

Information provided indicates the iRobot Braava Jet Mopping Robot has enough other skills that identifying peripheries should be one of them, but it's not explicitly stated. What we do read is that the mop on wheels can access tricky spots and crevices, such as around toilets, in corners, and under cabinet overhangs. It also navigates around furniture and other barriers.

Once the iRobot has sprayed its cleaner it uses a vibrating cleaning head to scrub the floor to a shine. You fit the underside of the device with a wet mopping, damp mopping, or dry sweeping Braava jet pad, and the iRobot automatically selects its cleaning mode based on the pad type. When the pad is dirty, a Pad Eject button shoots it into the trash touch-free.
