Aquaphoric Self-Watering Planter
I bet I could still kill a plant inside an Aquaphoric Self-Watering Planter. A Fiber Soil planting medium and easy-to-read water gauge are no match for my black thumb (i.e., forgetfulness, laziness, and general ignorance.)
My wife would probably dig an Aquaphoric planter though. Especially the purply one they call "Wine Matte."
The Aquaphoric planters shown here are wee-sized for your desktops, countertops, and side tables. They measure 4.75" tall, and 5.25" wide at the top, 4" wide at the bottom. Each comes with a quart of Fiber Soil, which Aquaphoric says is superior to the stuff nature makes because it allows your plant's roots to breathe. However, since nature stayed out of it, Fiber Soil has minimal nutrients in it, and you'll need to fertilize your Aquaphoric houseplants to keep them thriving.
The Aquaphoric water gauge indicates when your plants need a drink, ensuring you don't end up with soggy roots or wilted leaves from under or overwatering. The system also reduces your watering schedule from every couple days to every couple weeks.
