The Voltage Ring
The alluring glow of the Voltage Ring might look familiar to Dude readers, reminding you of these luminescent forged carbon fiber rings from Carbon6. And indeed, John Paul Easley of Carbon6 had a hand in their creation. For the Voltage Ring, three standout jewelry designers - Carbon6 in Brooklyn, NY, Patrick Adair Designs in Salt Lake City, UT, and Carbon Fi in Phoenix, AZ - have teamed up to create a piece that brings their respective talents and inspirations to life.
The Voltage Ring endeavors to "embod[y] the raw and unbridled energy found in nature." Its wooden band is marked with fractal burns that glow brilliant blue, green, red, purple, aqua, or orange in the dark, an effort to capture the effect of a bolt of lightning. The Voltage Ring team uses their own proprietary formula to achieve the band's luminescence.
In addition to the color of the ring's glow, Voltage Ring backers will have a choice of wood band type, walnut, cherry, or maple. Those who don't want to serve as a beacon for horny fireflies at night can also swap out the Glow center for titanium or carbon fiber.
The Voltage Ring seeks crowdfunding on Kickstarter through June 23, 2019.
