My favorite part about using canned air is when whatever chemical reaction is taking place during the process makes the air's canister ice cold. After I'm done shooting all the skin debris and micro-organism poo out of my keyboard I always move stealthily about the office placing the chilled can up against the backs of co-workers' necks. Hearing grown men shriek never gets old.
But apparently it does get two thumbs down from enviro-Nazis. Canned air no es bueno for Mother Earth. The O2 Hurricane Canless Air System, though, serves as an eco-friendly alternative that its makers say will accomplish the same high-powered blower cleaning using just the air we breathe. No chemicals or waste required.
This special edition blue O2 Hurricane unit can achieve an air outpour of over 220 mph. Cordless and rechargeable, the Canless Air System delivers the desktop, laptop, and general electronics cleaning capacity of over 1,000 cans of standard compressed computer duster air.
While some reviewers note that even at advertised speeds the Canless Air System does't seem to have the same power as canned versions, others say its green nature and potential for extended use still make it worth the investment. I can't say for sure one way or the other, but judging by the video and the O-face lady in the O2 Hurricane photo, it looks like the Canless way works pretty alright to me.
